Onwards to Perth

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and some free time before your flight to Perth. On arrival, you’ll be met by a Scenic Representative and transferred to your hotel for a three-night Special Stay.

Perth

Explore the sights, such as Perth’s Mint, Kings Park and the Botanical Gardens. Alternatively, the city’s lively shopping precincts are perfect for indulging in a spot of retail therapy.

Tonight you will take to the waters of Swan River for a Welcome Dinner Cruise. With a glass of sparkling wine in-hand and a buffet laid out for you and your fellow Scenic guests, this is the perfect opportunity to raise a toast to the journey and celebrate with new friends and your Tour Director.

Perth > Margaret River

On your way to Margaret River, you’ll visit Shoalwater. A glass bottom boat awaits for a cruise around Penguin and Seal Island. See a variety of wildlife, as penguins, seals and sea lions frequent the clear waters. Bottlenose dolphins are also common and local groups are often spotted. At Penguin Island, home to Western Australia’s largest colony of little penguins, take part in a guided tour to the lookout, before feeding time.  Later, stop off at Busselton, home of the Southern Hemisphere’s longest jetty, and continue to Yallingup for a two-night stay (porterage not included). This evening you’re free to relax or take a trip to the charming town of Margaret River on a complimentary shuttle service.

Margaret River and the Southern Ocean

After breakfast, travel to Augusta and the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet. As you continue to the ‘Tall Timber’ country and the Boranup Karri Forest, admire the amazing vistas across the forest and coastline.

Day 10
Margaret River > Alice Springs

Following breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Perth for a flight to Alice Springs, a popular gateway for those wishing to embark on an adventure through the country’s infamous Red Centre. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your hotel for a two-night stay before enjoying dinner in the restaurant.

Alice Springs

Visit the School of the Air and learn about the teaching methods helping to provide an education for children living in remote parts of Australia. Explore the Alice Springs Telegraph Station and learn about the Royal Flying Doctor Service, which inspired the television series. Spend the afternoon at your leisure.

Take a laid-back walk through the bush of the Kangaroo Sanctuary as they wake from their sleep. A guide will be on-hand to teach about the significance of the wildlife that inhabits the 90 acres of untouched land, founded by Chris Barnes, star of ‘Kangaroo Dundee’.

Alice Springs > Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Travel through Australia’s desert landscape before arriving at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park for a one-night Scenic Special Stay, a unique luxury retreat.

Tonight you're invited to a dining experience set amidst an outdoor exhibit called Field of Light. The mesmerising artwork, created by Bruce Munro, will be created from thousands of bulbs planted in the desert surrounding Uluru in the outback. On your first full day in the city, it won’t take you long to discover that this cultural hub has many unique characteristics, from bohemian Brunswick Street to the plentiful sporting stadiums. To introduce you, we’ve put together an exciting range of Freechoice activities.

Take a trip to Phillip Island where you’ll see Australia’s wildlife and magical penguin parade, or embark on an unforgettable adventure down the Great Ocean Road. Spend today however you please. Visit one of the city’s many art galleries or museums, or head to Federation Square and the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Enjoy an early dinner on board a restored tramcar as it tours the city. Authentic Australian cuisine complements the stylish, old-fashioned ornate interiors and gives you a unique view of Melbourne. After leaving Cairns, you’ll head to Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park for an educational morning, before checking into your resort in Thala Beach for a two-night Special Stay. Overlooking the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, spend the day relaxing, exploring or taking a complimentary shuttle bus to Port Douglas. Great Barrier Reef

No trip to Australia would be complete without a visit to the Great Barrier Reef, a 2,300km-long ecosystem comprised of thousands of reefs and hundreds of islands made of coral. Travel to Port Douglas and take a high-speed catamaran to a pontoon moored on the Outer Barrier Reef. Snorkel with an instructor and enjoy viewing the coral and sea life from a semi-submersible boat, taking a closer look at the underwater life from an observatory.

For your final day, we have planned two unforgettable experiences to ensure your journey ends in true Scenic style.

After breakfast you’ll be transported to Rose Bay to board a seaplane for a spectacular scenic flight over some of Sydney’s premier attractions. Soar over the sandstone cliffs at the entrance to Sydney Harbour where you can see surfers and beach-goers mingle below. You’ll then return to Rose Bay via the inner harbour for a circuit above Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge (weather dependent).

As evening approaches, you are invited to enjoy an unforgettable farewell dinner at an award-winning restaurant which boasts idyllic views of the famous Opera House.
