Austria Holidays up 23.9% compared to last year

There was some great news for Austrian tourism this week, as preliminary reports from the country’s statistics offices indicate an increase of 23.9% on overnight stays by non-residents in May 2012 compared to May 2011. It’s a big boost, which goes to show how popular the country is becoming as people rediscover the wonders it holds. The number of residents taking holidays in their country also went up, demonstrating that the tourism sector in Austria is continuing to increase the quality of its facilities and excursions, and that there’s plenty to offer both first-timers to the destination and people who have visited before. Our river cruises in Europe allow you to venture into the country yourself, experiencing the best it has to offer whilst staying in complete luxury on board one of our delightful ships. It’s a wonderful way to experience Austria, and you’ll also have the added benefit of seeing plenty of other European countries en route. Image Credit: joiseyshowaa (flickr.com)
