German tourist board reports increased number of British Travellers

Recent figures from the German National Tourist Office have shown an increase in the number of British holidaymakers heading to the country. The rise means that Britain is the second-largest contributor of visitors to Germany in Europe, second only to the Netherlands. Anybody who has enjoyed one of our European river cruises through Germany will recognise what the country has to offer its guests, but for people considering a cruise in 2013, the German National Tourist Office have highlighted two events which are sure to draw you in. 2013 is not only the 200th birthday of Richard Wagner, but also marks 150 years since the death of the Brothers Grimm, and events will be taking place throughout the year to commemorate the work of each. Other reasons that Germany has become increasingly popular with British tourists are the fine wines the country produces and the incredible history on display in many of its cities.
