$1 million Pumped into Aboriginal Tourism

Australia is a great holiday destination for many well known reasons, one reason being its vibrant and unique Aboriginal history. The preservation of this will soon get a boost thanks to a $1 million grant given to the Gold Coast area. Earlier this month the Minister for Tourism announced that Dreamworld would be receiving a $1 million T-QUAL grant to convert its wildlife area into an Aboriginal wildlife experience, and following this has been the announcement of a further $1 million STIG (Strategic Tourism Investment Grant) towards four Indigenous tourism projects throughout the Gold Coast area. These developments not only share indigenous culture with tourists, but also provide job opportunities for Aborigines and a platform for the retail of their own products. Through this, the tourism experience is better for both visitors to the country and the local Indigenous community too. The intriguing Aboriginal culture is just one reason to visit Australia, and our escorted Australia tours offer the chance to see all this and more whilst travelling in absolute luxury.
