Australian Facebook users try domestic holidays

Australia has seen a surge in domestic tourism after Facebook ‘bragging’ has encouraged Australians to holiday in their own country. More than 1 in 5 Australians have booked a domestic holiday after viewing a friend’s updated Facebook profile. It has been reported that approximately 40% of Australians share their domestic holiday experiences on their social media profile, whether this be in the form of a status update, photo album or the more recent ‘life event’ posting option on users’ personal Facebook timelines. According to a report by Yellow Pages, Australia is the most Facebook addicted country in the world with most users spending around 6 hours per week on the site. Social media has provided a great platform for showing others the best bits of a holiday and Australian nationals are realising just how much their own country has to offer. Whilst Australians are travelling all over the country to discover new experiences that are available right on their doorstep, you can also enjoy the best of the country, and our Australia tours are great for doing just that.
