National Geographic praises Australia’s Surf

Australia is well known for its beautiful beaches and fantastic surf, and just recently this was officially recognised when the National Geographic included the country in its list of top surfing destinations. The well respected publication compiled a list of the World’s 20 Best Surf Towns and Australia’s Byron Bay came out as the best surf town to please a range of ages. Towns were judged on the consistency of waves, the friendliness of locals, activities available and their range of delicious food. Australia was recognised to have all of these in abundance, with the National Geographic bestowing its highest praise upon the country as “perhaps the greatest surfing nation in the world”. Byron Bay is just one of the many beaches in Australia with welcoming hospitality, great food and plenty to discover. Although not yet included on our Australia tours, we offer plenty of equally brilliant beach stops on a magnificent luxury tour of some of the greatest parts of the country.
