New Zealand tourist arrivals highest in seven years

New Zealand has broken one of its records for tourist numbers last month with over 151,000 people visiting the island during June. The figures have shown just how popular New Zealand has become in recent years; short term visits of these numbers have not been seen since 2005, which as many will remember is the year that the Irish and British Lions toured the nation. The information was released by Statistics New Zealand and, with a 15% rise in visitor numbers compared to the same month last year, they have delighted many within the travel and tourism industry. With so many great New Zealand tours on offer it is no wonder that visitors from across the world are exploring the fabulous Island. The visitor numbers are sure to increase exponentially as more and more films are being produced in New Zealand, bringing the island scenery and charms to cinemas and people’s front rooms.
