American Students Impressed with Rothenburg

It was the history of the area that they found most fascinating, enjoying stories about the town that date back from before America was even discovered by Europeans. The medieval walls, narrow alleys, cobblestone streets and traditional shops provided plenty for them to explore. They were also fond of one of Rothenburg’s sweet delicacies, the schneeballe (or ‘snowball’ to English speakers). This is a sweet pastry covered with icing sugar that comes in a variety of flavours. There are whole shops dedicated to selling these sweet treats, shelves stocked with them in every flavour imaginable. If you want to discover this for yourself, along with the city hall tower, the huge Christmas shop Kathe Wohlfahrt and the beautiful medieval architecture, then our Rhine river cruises are the perfect way for you to do so.
