Tourism New Zealand to launch Hobbit tie-in video in August

With some of this year’s biggest movie releases already out of the way, attention is now turning to the first Hobbit film, due to make its appearance in November. Journalists are already visiting New Zealand to write about the film’s location and what audiences might expect to see, and Tourism New Zealand are hoping to capitalise on this by launching their latest marketing video later in August, tying together New Zealand and the Hobbit. Due to appear on television, online and in cinemas, the adverts will show landscapes used in the films and claim that New Zealand is ‘100% Middle-earth’. Whether they’ll use scenes from the films themselves or will incorporate the trilogies in other ways, perhaps showing groups of holidaymakers re-enacting scenes or coming across characters from the film, remains to be seen. If you want to see the fantastic landscapes of New Zealand for yourself, whether it’s because of the hugely successful films or simply because it’s a beautiful country, our New Zealand tours are the perfect way to do so.
