The best in river cruising throughout the year

Spring
One of the busiest periods for river cruising, this season sees Europe become a nature lover's paradise. Flowers in the Netherlands and Belgium come into bloom and brighten green spaces with numerous beautiful shades, and many choose to head off on a specially organised river cruise during this season to see sights such as Keukenhof Gardens. The millions of tulips in this park are a wonderful sight to see.

Summer
A visit to Eastern Europe along the magnificent Danube River has all the characteristics of a luxury holiday and more, combining a warm climate and beautiful scenery with a wide range of cultural excursions and luxury accommodation. Cities such as Budapest and Vienna are wonderful to explore in these balmier months and the sundeck found on a number of river cruise ships is the ideal place to be whilst cruising along the water.

Autumn
The autumn season presents the ideal opportunity for a relaxing holiday to those who could do with a break before the busy preparations for Christmas begin. The colours of Europe in autumn are equal to those found in spring, with the bright oranges and fiery reds of the leaves looking particularly beautiful in the Rhine valley.

Winter
A number of special river cruises are often organised in the winter season, coinciding with the vast amount of Christmas Markets that spring up everywhere in Europe. The cultural excursions on offer throughout the year are combined with the special Christmas atmosphere of such famous markets as the Cologne Christmas Market to make a river cruise that captures the very best of winter.
