The championships, held at the Syma Sport and Events Centre in Budapest, began on January 13th and will finish on the 19th.
The event, held in a city that is one of the most popular stop-off points for passengers taking river cruise tour at the moment should certainly make an effort to see at least some of the event, with the talented participants competing for singles, pair skating and ice dancing titles.
With the championships coming just ahead of the Winter Olympics, the skaters who are on show will be looking to perform out of their skins to guarantee a place in their respective national team.
There’s more to see in Budapest
Though spectacular, the European Figure Skating Championships are, of course, not the only thing to do and see in Budapest, as the historic city offers visitors a whole host of attractions and activities.
The Syma Sport and Events Centre itself has a whole host of events taking place during the year, including music concerts, exhibitions and more, so be sure to check out what’s on at the centre during your next getaway.
Budapest presents visitors with great cultural attractions such as the Buda Castle, the Chain Bridge, the Fisherman’s Bastion and the Hungarian State Opera House, to name but a few.
