Amsterdam reveals its brewing talent

A Condé Nast Traveller magazine piece has concluded that, despite the country sitting between two of the biggest names in beer, Germany and Belgium, there is no lack of talent and choice in the Netherlands.

The article highlights a number of exceptional breweries in the heart of the city which guests on Scenic Tours river cruises.

De 7 Deugden, which means ‘the seven virtues’, is something a bit different again. This brewery made the list for its special beverages that feature an eclectic blend of herbs and spices, as well as its strict adherence to ethics. Always hiring their employees directly from the labour market, this brewery makes great beer whilst providing jobs to those who need them most.

Finally, the publication mentioned the Bierfabriek brewery. Translating as ‘beer factory’, you may think that this brewery lacks the same charm of the other three sites listed above, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Making the list for its fantastic food and unique service style, with which punters are able to help themselves via the bar’s self-service tap tables, this brewery is said to really round off any trip to Amsterdam.
