The biggest watch fair in the world has opened this week in Basel and is set to attract an estimated 100,000 visitors.
The fair, called Baselworld, is this year celebrating its 42nd birthday and features around 1,500 exhibitors such as Rolex and Omega showing off their latest products.
The show, which officially opened today (27th March), is not only expected to attract people in the watch and jewellery industry but is also set to bring in holidaymakers currently on most luxurious European river cruises, but it is also renowned for its history and heritage in watches and jewellery, which is why the world’s largest watch show visits the city in northern Switzerland every year.
The show is not only dedicated to watches, however, as it also offers visitors the chance to browse and buy some of the best and most expensive pieces of jewellery found anywhere in the globe.
Organisers at Baselworld have revealed that exhibitors will be putting on a number of activities during the week-long event as they aim to catch the attention of visitors.
