The new route will start from St Pancras train station in the centre of London and will go via Ashford before travelling to Marseille.
Pierre Delalande, who is head of public affairs for Eurostar, revealed last week that the new route will be launched in May 2015.
Eurostar destinations to be increased
The recent announcement that Marseille will become the latest stop-off for travellers on the Eurostar follows on from the announcement at the beginning of the year that services to the likes of Avignon will be increased.
The likes of Avignon and Marseille are popular destinations for new river cruises in the south of France will be delighted to hear that the new service will run throughout the year from St Pancras.
Eurostar has also revealed that the sale of tickets for the new route will be available from December this year, while the first train to make the journey from St Pancras to Marseille will depart in May 2015.
Full details about where the train will stop-off and how long the journey will take to Marseille are set to be released later this year.
