The city centre of Belgrade came to a standstill as around 20,000 runners from around 50 countries pounded the streets of the city as part of the marathon.
This record-breaking number of participants was also backed up with the thousands of people who turned out to watch the marathon, including holidaymakers who stopped-off in the city as part of their opulent river cruises and short breaks.
