Hundreds of people on five-star river cruises and city breaks would have this week seen a number of events take place in the old Jewish quarter of Budapest as the main aim of the project has been to teach both locals and visitors about the history of the Yellow Star Houses.
One of the event’s organisers, said: “This 70 year-old, tragic chapter of this city’s history, is something we know very little about. Yellow Star houses have never been talked about. So this event is helping people to own the city, because you cannot feel at home if you don’t know the place you live in.”
