Taxis are a great way of travelling around a city and are as useful to French river cruise passengers as they are to locals. Unfortunately, taxi drivers in Paris sometimes have a bad reputation for being rude, not accepting credit cards and even refusing a customer if the route they would need to take is inconvenient, but the new bookable minicabs are reportedly providing a polite and welcoming alternative to the old Parisian taxi cab.
A recent change in the law and rise of the smartphone app has liberalised the minicabs of Paris and has resulted in the minicab services becoming increasingly popular in the city. The minicabs cannot be hailed in the street like a taxi can, but the reservation system combined with GPS-enabled smartphone apps has allowed those looking for a ride to get a bookable minicab in no time at all.
