The heady and evocative scents of perfume remind many of France, a European centre of perfume and home to Paris, arguably Europe's most romantic city. Those who love all things French, from fashion and perfume to French river cruising and fine dining, are sure to enjoy this new exhibition opening at the Grand Palais this month, which celebrates one of France's greatest fashion designers.
'Esprit Dior, Miss Dior' will be opening at the Galerie Courbe in the Grand Palais in Paris on 13th November and will be running until 25th November. Although the exhibit is open for a very short amount of time, the exhibition is sure to impress, with the interpretative work of 15 female artists on display.
The artists were asked to create a piece that reflects an aspect of the Miss Dior fragrance, whether they felt most inspired by Christian Dior himself, the bottle, the perfume or by Natalie Portman, the actress who has been the face of Miss Dior since 2010.
Not only will the history, influence and inspiration behind Miss Dior be covered in the exhibition, but Christian Dior and the Dior couture house will also feature; documents, photographs and even Dior couture gowns will be on display for visitors to enjoy.
As the first fragrance to be created by Dior back in 1947, the Miss Dior exhibit will be a must for those who are interested in cultural river cruises and exploring the history of Paris. Some of the greatest museums in the world are found in Paris and 'Esprit Dior, Miss Dior' is just one of the many exhibits waiting to be discovered there.
