28 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - UK > Valparaiso, Chile

    Fly from the UK overnight to Valparaiso.

  2. Day 2 - Valparaiso, Chile

    Arrive in Valparaiso for an overnight stay in a luxurious hotel.

  3. Day 3 - Valparaiso, Chile

    The World Heritage-listed city of Valparaiso welcomes us with its long and colourful history dating back to the conquistadors.  This vibrant city is rich in theatre, music, performance and street art – most streets, staircases, alleyways and buildings are brightly painted – and exquisite Victorian architecture.

  4. Day 4 - At sea

    Relaxation beckons with so many choices on board you will wonder how time passes so quickly.  Choose one of the daily activities including a class in Scenic Epicure, join an entertaining discussion in the Theatre, or make time for your own fitness regime.

  5. Day 5 - Puerto Montt

    At the very end of the Pan American highway is the Puerto Montt, which is the starting point for a fabled land of fjords, canals, islands, snow-capped volcanoes, green-forested hills and the enchantment of Southern Chile.  Puerto Montt is the perfect starting point to explore the German cities of Frutillar and Puerto Varas.

  6. Day 6 - Castro

    Visit Castro, where colourful wooden stilt houses line the waterfront and the Chilote culture is seen throughout the World Heritage listed churches and architecture.

  7. Day 7 - Laguna San Rafael

    San Rafael exhibits marvellous topographic variety. Its sea fauna and channels, islands, snowcaps and fjords offer a great place for tourism. The Northern Ice Field, San Rafael Lagoon and San Rafael Snowcap, are the favourite spots for national and foreign visitors because of their amazing landscapes and ecological biodiversity.

  8. Day 8 - Tortel

    Caleta Tortel is a coastal village, located between the mouth of the Baker River the largest river in Chile and a small embayment of the Baker Channel. The surrounding geography is rugged, formed by a number of islands, fjords, channels and estuaries. The village was founded in 1955 to exploit the cypress de las guaytecas wood that was abundant in the area. The timber business accounts for most of the economy in Tortel to this day.
    The Chilean Patagonia is a region of great natural diversity. This unique place has forests, mountains, islands, canals and glaciers, all of them barely explored by man.

  9. Day 9 - Angustura Inglese

    The Angostura Ingles (English Narrows) are located north of Puerto Eden, a small isolated port located on Wellington Island, in the Magallanes Region of Chile. The village is known for being the home of the last Kawéshkar people.

  10. Day 10 - Chilean Fjords

    At the foot of the massive Darwin Cordillera mountain range, the majestic scenery and wildlife of the inner passages of the Chilean Channels is an assault on the senses. Watch from the Sky Terrace, the Observation Terrace or your private verandah as the Captain and local Chilean Pilot expertly manoeuvre Scenic Eclipse through the islands and channel markers of the English Narrows.

  11. Day 11 - Punta Arenas

    Not far from Patagonia, the city is located in the extreme south of Chile with a port and sheep-breeding history, the gateway into Antarctica will captivate you with its clean air and sophisticated European architecture.

  12. Day 12 - Seno Agostini & Seno Garibaldi

    A sensory day of cruising and exploring in kayaks, Zodiacs and helicopters^ awaits as we traverse Agostini Fjord. Glaciers and fjords abound with the Monte Buckland mountain range as the backdrop.

  13. Day 13 - Seno Agostini & Seno Garibaldi

  14. Day 14 - Cape Horn & Puerto Williams

    The point where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean meet, Cape Horn is steeped in maritime history and is the southernmost headland of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago and the southernmost tip of Chile.  Weather permitting, our landing on Cape Horn will show the true skill of our Captain, Crew and the Discovery Team.

  15. Day 15 - Ushuaia, Argentina

    Welcome to Ushuaia where you have a full day to discover this fascinating city at your leisure.

  16. Day 16 - Crossing the Drake Passage

    Look around and behold the cape petrels flying about the ship, majestic albatross soaring on the wind, and Wilson’s storm petrels skipping along the ocean surface. Our onboard Discovery Team enlightens you about Antarctica and its natural history, bringing the journey to life with their impressive experience and knowledge of the region. Early afternoon on Day 3 we watch for our first icebergs and hope to do our first landing.

  17. Day 17 - Crossing the Drake Passage

    Cruise the Drake Passage.

  18. Day 18 - Antarctic Peninsula

    Voyaging overnight along the Gerlache Strait we arrive at the breath-taking Antarctica Peninsula, a land as vast as it is magical. We set out on Zodiacs, kayaks, helicopters^ or submarine^, and venture to penguin rookeries, historic sites and scientific stations, and cruise around majestic icebergs. Discover secluded bays via kayak, plunge below the surface to underwater kingdoms by submarine, and circle above incredible inland vistas in a helicopter. Keep your eyes peeled for leopard seals snacking among the icebergs, and later, step ashore for moments you’ll never forget.

  26. Day 26 - Ushuaia > Buenos Aires

    Relax as we cruise along the Beagle Channel in the early morning. We disembark after breakfast for our flight back to Buenos Aires and have an overnight stay.

  27. Day 27 - Buenos Aires

    Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
