24 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Depart UK

    Fly from a choice of UK airports on selected airlines, including emirates via Dubai, from London Heathrow, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester or Newcastle. Alternatively, Singapore Airlines from London Heathrow or Manchester.

  2. Day 2 - Siem Reap

    Arrive at your hotel in Siem Reap, your stylish home for a three night Special Stay. After a day at leisure meet your Scenic Tour Director at your welcome briefing and dinner.

  3. Day 3 - Siem Reap

    Begin the day with a visit to the colossal Angkor Wat, before exploring at Angkor Thom and the multi-faced Bayon Temple.  See the Elephant Terrace before enjoying your refreshing Khmer lunch. Later visit the atmospheric Ta Prohm Temple as seen in the film Tomb Raider.

    Take your reserved seat at the colourful Cambodian Circus, Phare.

  4. Day 4 - Siem Reap

    Marvel at sunrise over the magnificent Angkor Wat before moving to a special location for a champagne breakfast with food prepared by an NGO supported local bakery school.

    Discover the temple of Banteay Srei and visit the Landmine Museum or explore Beng Mealea temples and the Artisans D’Angkor Handicraft Centre. Alternatively, cruise on Tonle Sap (seasonal) to view the floating villages or take a tethered balloon ride (weather dependent) to experience the spectacular aerial view above Angkor Wat.

    Be wowed by a magical themed gala dinner at an Angkor temple, with included free flow drinks and a show featuring Apsara dancers in front of candle lit temple ruins.

  5. Day 5 - Siem Reap > Mekong Cruise

    Discover the rural side of Cambodia on your drive with stops en-route to Kampong Cham where Scenic Spirit awaits.

  6. Day 6 - Wat Hanchey > Kampong Cham

    Walk (or drive) to the top of Wat Hanchey, an ancient hilltop pagoda and monastery to meet the resident novice monks. Sail downstream to Kampong Cham.

    Learn about the history of the area with a visit to Phnom Pros (Man Hill) and then Wat Nokor. Alternatively explore the ecotourism village of Cheung Kok or spend your time visiting a rubber plantation factory and beetle nut village.

  7. Day 7 - Kampong Tralach > Oudong > Kho Chen

    Arrive in Kampong Tralach and experience an ox cart ride through a local village and fields. Board your coach to the ancient capital of Oudong to visit the impressive pagoda and monastery to observe the lifestyle of the resident monks and nuns.

    Receive a blessing from a monk and learn how to pray in a Buddhist pagoda before partaking in a ceremony, which contributes to the daily meal of the resident nuns and monks.

    Later sail down Tonle River and wander through the silversmith village of Kho Chen.

  8. Day 8 - Phnom Penh

    Journey to the Killing Fields and tour Tuol Sleng, or join a hands-on Khmer cooking demonstration. Alternatively, by Tuk Tuk explore Phnom Penh’s colonial buildings and Central Market.

    Immerse yourself in the historically celebrated luxury of Raffles, Hotel Le Royal. Enjoy a guided history tour followed by an indulgent high tea prepared in front of you by the hotel’s chefs, all whilst sipping on your signature cocktail named in honour of Jacqueline Kennedy. Choose to retire to the Elephant Bar for happy hour before returning to the ship viewing the floodlit Independence Monument en-route.

  9. Day 9 - Phnom Penh > Tan Chau

    Marvel at the Royal Palace, with the famous Silver Pagoda within, on your included visit to this must-see attraction. The afternoon is at your leisure to take advantage of the facilities of the most luxurious ship on the Mekong as you set sail for the border. Celebrate arriving in Vietnam with your themed evening dinner.

  10. Day 10 - Tan Chau

    Visit the farmers on Evergreen Island and enjoy a ride in a Xe Loi. Alternatively visit the Tay An temple located at the foot of Sam mountain and visit a family-operated fish farm or visit Tra Su Bird Sanctuary.

    Whilst sailing to Sa Dec take the time to sip a cocktail by the pool or enjoy the solitude on your private balcony.

  11. Day 11 - Sa Dec > Cai Be

    Immerse yourself in the historic town of Sa Dec and explore its lively market. Stop for tea at the home of Mr Huynh Thuy Le who inspired Marguerite Duras’ novel L’Amant.

    Visit Cai Be before stopping at local cottage industries and a traditional house in the area. Alternatively savour afternoon tea at a French colonial house or choose to stay on board for your special Freechoice activity.

  12. Day 12 - Mekong Cruise > Ho Chi Minh City

    Drive to Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy an orientation tour around your Special Stay hotel for the next two nights. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.

     Enjoy a Vespa foodie tour of Saigon by night or enjoy a meal in the surroundings of an old French colonial house. Alternatively dine at Restaurant Nineteen, Square One or Di Mai Restaurant.

  13. Day 13 - Ho Chi Minh City

    Travel to the Cu Chi Tunnels and learn about the underground labyrinth of war-time passageways. After lunch wander through the Reunification Palace and sombre War Museum.

  14. Day 14 - Ho Chi Minh City > Hue

    This morning fly to Hue.

    During an inspiring visit to Duc Son Pagoda, talk with the nuns and learn how they are supporting their orphanage through different initiatives, including the proceeds from your lunch.

    Cruise the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda before checking into your hotel in Hue, your home for the night.

    This evening’s Royal Dinner is held in a traditional private garden house accompanied by wine and Hue Royal Court music.

  15. Day 15 - Hue > Hoi An

    Learn about the history of Hue through a visit to the Mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc and the grandeur of Hue’s Imperial Citadel. Travel via the breath taking Hai Van Pass to Hoi An and enjoy a three night stay at Almanity or similar, including a daily 90-minute spa journey.

    Dine at the Morning Glory or at Little Faifo (formerly known as Ancient Faifo). Alternatively, visit Brother’s Café down along the river.

  16. Day 16 - Hoi An

    Take a walking tour of Hoi An’s World Heritage-listed Old Quarter before stopping at the home of a former merchant. Later, in your own time, you may wish to visit one of the many tailors in town.

    This evening relax at a reception in the Blue Bar with included beer and wine.

  17. Day 17 - Hoi An

    Visit the ancient temple ruins of My Son. Alternatively, enjoy an interactive cooking class at Red Bridge Restaurant or cycle to a nearby farming village.

    Another free afternoon allows you to soak up the atmosphere of this charming town.

  18. Day 18 - Hoi An > Hanoi

    Transfer to Danang and fly to Hanoi to settle into your two night Special Stay.

    Choose to dine at KOTO on Van Mieu, or La Terrace at Sofitel. Alternatively, sample Ly Club.

  19. Day 19 - Hanoi

    Visit the History Museum and Hoa Lo Prison, or partake in an authentic cooking class. Alternatively, visit Ho Chi Minh Quarter and Mausoleum, including a visit to the Temple of Literature.

    On your cyclo ride this afternoon, you’ll discover the maze of back streets through the Old Quarter.

    After attending a customary performance of Hanoi’s famous water puppets, learn the secrets behind this illusionary show thanks to your special backstage pass.

  20. Day 20 - Hanoi > Halong Bay Cruise

    Journey to Halong Bay and board the elegant Au Co for an awe-inspiring special two night cruise through the picturesque waters of this spectacular World Heritage-listed icon.

  21. Day 21 - Halong Bay Cruise

    Begin the day with a Tai Chi lesson on the Sun Deck. Later, visit Cat Ba Island before cruising deeper into the National Park.
