16 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - UK > Amman

    Fly from London Heathrow to Amman. Regional airports are available on request. Your journey into wonder begins in Amman, the capital of the Kingdom of Jordan, where you’ll enjoy three-nights.

  2. Day 2 - Amman

    Enjoy a day at leisure prior to meeting your Tour Director for a dinner of local delicacies in the evening.

  3. Day 3 - Amman

    Discover the ancient Roman city of Jerash, inhabited since the Bronze Age. Explore the impressive ruins and witness an exciting re-enactment of a Roman chariot race in the hippodrome. This afternoon join your Tour Director for a walk through the food and produce markets and stop to taste some traditional Jordanian sweets.

  4. Day 4 - Amman > Wadi Rum

    At Madaba discover the famous mosaic map of the Holy Land and visit the Madaba Institute for Mosaic Art and Restoration. Continue to the dramatic desert landscapes of Wadi Rum where you will feel like you have stepped onto the moon during your Special Stay in the luxurious Martian tents of the Sun Camp.

  5. Day 5 - Wadi Rum > Petra

    Travel in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia as you discover the dramatic desert landscapes of Wadi Rum. Explore Lawrence Road and marvel at the vistas of ancient valleys and towering weathered sandstone mountains rising out of the pink and white sands. Continue to the Rose Red city of Petra for your two night stay. An unforgettable sight awaits as you visit the Treasury and chasms lit by candlelight.

  6. Day 6 - Petra

    This magnificent World Heritage-listed city is the legacy of the Nabataeans, who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. The impressive eastern entrance leads through a brilliantly coloured narrow gorge to the imposing Treasury, more than 40 metres high. Designed to impress, the rock-cut facade will take your breath away.

  7. Day 7 - Petra > Dead Sea

    At Bethany Beyond the Jordan see where Jesus was baptised then view the memorial to Moses at Mount Nebo. Travel north to your resort for the next two nights on the shores of the Dead Sea. Relax and enjoy sweeping views over the Dead Sea and across to Israel from your balcony.

  8. Day 8 - Dead Sea

    Enjoy the facilities of your resort including direct access to the sea. Spoil yourself and allow the staff to slather you in the therapeutic mud, or float in the hypersaline waters of the Dead Sea, while reading a book or the newspaper.

  9. Day 9 - Dead Sea > Muscat

    Fly to Muscat and check in for your three night Special Stay at your iconic hotel, with views of the ocean from your room. This evening, meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a welcome to Oman dinner.

  10. Day 10 - Muscat

    Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman has a history dating over 900 years. Set between the Hajar Mountains on one side and the sparkling waters of the Gulf on the other, this important port city has a colourful history with past rulers including the Persians and the Portuguese Empire. Your exploration of this city starts with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone. Marvel at the features including the enormous hand woven prayer carpet, chandeliers and stained glass windows.

    Be welcomed by the owner of the Bait Adam Museum and enjoy traditional Omani coffee with dates, and a tour of his private collection.

  11. Day 11 - Muscat

    Freechoice

    Immerse yourself in this beautiful city and its monuments and discover Muscat in-depth by visiting the Opera House and National Museum before driving along the waterfront Corniche, then finish off at the bustling Muttrah Souq. Alternatively, spot wild dolphins along Muscat’s rugged coast on a fun dolphin-watching cruise.

    Later, see Muscat’s coast through the eyes of ancient seafarers who plied this route for centuries on a traditional Dhow cruise.

  12. Day 12 - Muscat > Wahiba Sands

    Board your 4WD vehicles for your adventure into the vast mass of undulating dunes of Oman. En route, drive past the fishing village of Quriyat to spot flamingos and stop at the Bimah sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater filled with shimmering blue green water.
    Later, experience the thrills of dune driving and observe the surprisingly wide array of flora and fauna found in the desert sands before visiting a Bedouin home to enjoy a cup of Omani coffee and learn about local life. Arrive at your tented Bedouin camp for the night in time to see the changing colours of the desert during a golden sunset, a photographers’ delight.

  13. Day 13 - Wahiba > Jebel Akhdar

    Escape to cool mountain climes, stopping in Birkat Al Mawz, an uninhibited, abandoned village full of date and banana orchards and old brick houses. Continue on to Jebel Akhdar. Located on the fabled Green Mountain, elevated luxury reveals dramatic canyon views at one of the world’s highest resorts. Your two night Special Stay, offers Omani splendour in the most breathtaking of natural settings.

  14. Day 14 - Nizwa

    Enjoy the stark beauty of the Wahiba Desert from your room, as sunrise over the desert paints the landscape in pastel shades. Enjoy an early breakfast and depart for Nizwa Old Town, a former
    capital of Oman. Immerse yourself in the lively souq and explore the well preserved, World Heritage-listed Bahla Fort – the finest of Oman’s castles – which displays beautiful Omani ceiling paintings and beautifully executed woodcarvings.

  15. Day 15 - Jebel Akhdar > Muscat

    Discover the 400-year-old village of Al Hamra, one of the best preserved old towns in Oman. Stroll past the honey coloured Yemeni-style old mud-brick houses and the lush, green date plantations. Proceed to Misfat Al Abriyeen, before venturing on a fun-filled and adventurous drive crossing Oman’s quaint villages, patchwork terraces and traditional houses laid out against the rocky slopes. Continue to Muscat and return to your hotel for another Special Stay. This evening. join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a farewell dinner.
