Read our guide to learn more about the dining options during your Europe river cruise.

Dining on Your Scenic Space-Ship

Every day on board a Scenic Space-Ship invites new dining options. Our expert chefs carefully and lovingly craft every single dish, utilising the very best fresh, regional and seasonal produce available along your route. There is a venue and menu to suit any occasion and all palates. From casual to fine dining, every meal during your river cruise will be flavoursome and elegantly arranged, tasting as good as it looks.

Indulge in an opulent multi-course meal at Portobellos or L’Amour*, our fine dining Italian, French or Portuguese restaurant (dependent on your destination) which caters to a maximum of 32 guests per evening. If you are looking for truly authentic dining, our main restaurant, Crystal Dining, serves locally-inspired fare alongside classic dishes. For more casual dining, the River Café is open throughout the day – if you fancy a light bite for lunch, a healthy breakfast to start your day well, or a snack at any time, this is the place to visit.

Dining doesn’t need to be a public affair though. You can savour menus from the comfort of your own suite with our vast room service menu. Your chosen meal will be delivered straight to your lap courtesy of your own private butler, letting you relax from your spacious suite, watching the serene rivers views pass by in blissful privacy.
For guests staying on the Diamond Deck and those in Royal or Junior Suites*, you will also receive an exclusive invitation to dine at the Table La Rive or Table d’Or (dependent on your destination). Savour the ultimate dégustation with a six-course menu accompanied by sommelier-paired wines. This intimate venue caters to an average of just 10 guests per evening.

We believe that beverages are also a crucial part of your all-inclusive dining experience*. Our sommeliers hand-select all of our wines, choosing a selection of the finest regional varieties. Why not start the day with a Champagne breakfast, delight in a local wine or craft beer with lunch and savour your favourite cocktail (or mocktail) for a pre-dinner drink. Ask our waiters to help choose the perfect red or white wine to pair with your evening meal.

Scenic Culinaire: Our On Board Cooking School

Bordeaux and the South of France with Scenic, gourmands and cooking novices alike can relish our exclusive on board cooking school, Scenic Culinaire. Participate in special small group cooking classes, learning how to create regional French recipes using the finest local, seasonal ingredients.

You will be joined by our highly trained chefs and cooking instructors, who will introduce you to these authentic recipes. This truly personalised culinary experience features a cheese and wine cellar as part of your private cooking station – the perfect additions to your creations. We have even included a live camera and screen so that you won't miss a moment of the cooking demonstration. And, of course, the best bit is tasting your dishes at the end.

Shop with a Chef in France

There’s no more authentic food experience than visiting a destination’s local marketplaces. When you visit Paris, Avignon or Bordeaux, you’ll have the opportunity to ‘Shop with a Chef’ as part of our Scenic Freechoice programme. These exclusive excursions will be one of the many highlights of your France river cruise.

Embark on a guided visit to a local food market with one of our expert chefs, letting you pick out the freshest local produce and delicious seasonal ingredients. When you return to your Space-Ship, watch our master chefs utilise these regional products to create a mouthwatering meal. The end creation will taste even better knowing that you have hand-selected the ingredients for it.
